People Only See What They Understand

I recently found an explanation to keep myself sane and not get annoyed or angry, I think. People can only see what they understand including me.

When someone makes a joke about being depressed they don’t understand the complex and dying scenario behind depression. I know all of us are dying but some of us can really feel the death and to understand that, one needs to see it and to see it, they have to understand it.

When we casually say ‘grow up’ the ulterior motive behind saying that is either ‘don’t bug me’ or ‘DON’T BUG ME.’ I know it is easier to look away and a lot easier to forget. But is it something that is a solution. I know you will feel guilty for looking away when that person is no more around, I know you will try to educate others when that person is no more around, I know you will blame yourself when that person is no more around but that person is no more around, whatever the reason.

Why do we want people to ignore it or just shake it off?

The answer is simple, I think, we do not understand it so we do not see it.

We don’t see:

People committing suicide

Our world getting darker

People asking for help

Plants dying

Air getting smokier

Our body getting weaker

The earth dying

Right?

Human Species is Ideal

There’s a mask that each of us wears, of the person we all want to be but not necessarily are. It’s just sometimes funny and sometimes daunting to see people try.
Try to be perfect
Try to be different
Try to be right
That’s something every one of us believes we are- right. We all have right opinions, we all make right decisions and we all are just right, always. That’s the race we are in, to be ultimately right. It’s a thing we all have built in.
In this race of being right, we all are becoming something that is not right.
We are becoming
Careless
Illogical
Unsentimental
Prude
Which is something not right, isn’t it!?
No, it is fine because we are saving our society from the ill components, aren’t we?

And what is our society, our society is something who yells gender equality *practices gender inequality*, it is where everyone gets freedom of speech and expression *that is why our criminal level is so high and increases every day*, it is something where logic isn’t required because we have superstition. It is where education isn’t required because we have religion. And the only place that deserves to stay clean is our homes *who cares about roads, parks etc.*

Our society and it’s rules are made by human species and it the ideal species. And the rules that we live by are not ancient, no, they do not belong to the 30’s because we live in 2017. And even if some rules are not compatible with the new generation so what, tradition is a real thing that we have to savour for as long as the humans live.

Ingredients:

  • Emotion
  • Soul
  • Wisdom
  • Joy
  • Conscience
  • Generosity
  • Charisma
  • Self-esteem
  • Awareness

Directions:

  1. Add one cup of emotion to one cup of soul to form the batter. Set aside for 10 min.
  2. Add finely chopped wisdom, joy, conscious, generosity and charisma to the batter.
  3. Place 1 tbsp of batter on slightly wet self-esteem and make human shapes.
  4. Deep fry in awareness until golden brown, serve hot.

Notes:

  • Try to add only fresh ingredients as old ones have opinions and judgements.
  • Do not use too much self-esteem otherwise, it will result in arrogance.
  • Top with humour, presence of mind, personality and passion for better results.

And we do treat her like one,
Ignore her,
Overwork her,
Disrespect her,

The Time I Realised.. Stuff

Being a human who is dependent on others is not easy and being a human who is dependent on others for happiness is not at all easy, it has a lot of consequences. The major one is ending up completely shattered when the other human does not respect or care for your feelings. That other human does not necessarily have to be your significant other, it can also be your friends or your family.

My father always says that humans are social animals and they cannot bloom or blossom in isolation, they need to be in contact with others to be the best version of themselves. But being around people who does not care for you as much you do about them is harrowing and it is not that easy to avoid those people because, you know, you care for them. So how to deal with it, what can one do to not be in that situation?

You cannot avoid the situation but you can definitely learn from it and move on.

I know you are thinking that if moving on was so easy then nobody in this world would have ever experienced depression or anxiety or just sadness. I hear ya folks. I know it will take time, it can take days, months or even years but believe me when you finally break those chains of emotions, life will suddenly be magical again. It’s not like magic didn’t exist before, you just ignored it.

Are you Beautiful or Pretty?

When I was in 9th standard my teacher asked the class what is the difference between beautiful and pretty?

And listening to these words filled my mind with supermodels, actresses and people on the front page of magazines. Just when I was admiring how amazing Cameron Diaz looked on the front page of the cosmopolitan magazine, she asked the question again. And this time I tried to focus but I couldn’t figure out the difference.

The whole class was quite, some knew the answer but couldn’t put it in words, some were just confused and some thought that we were going to study synonyms that day.

After a long pause, she said that she never expected an answer from us and it is okay that we don’t know. And then she explained the difference.

Beautiful is a person who feels good, a person who is content while pretty is a vanity word. Pretty means looking good and just looking good.

I never knew that words hold so much power and even synonyms are so significantly different. From that day on I wanted to be a beautiful person and I still want to.

But as I grew up I realised that even though beautiful is a state that we should aspire to be in but we run after pretty.

This world is all about looking, not feeling.

If you look good you must feel good right!?

But what if we don’t?

People say we are not allowed to be impaired if we don’t have a terminal disease or wounds to show.

But we are hurt and we are in pain and don’t know how to explain.

Dressing up, putting on makeup, wearing high heels are the ultimate signs of being happy or so I’ve heard.

But I’ve seen people laughing hard while crying inside.

I’ve seen people dressed up from tip to toe while feeling hollow inside.

I’ve seen people just surviving, passing each day by.

If someone looks good it doesn’t mean they feel good.

So maybe once in while ask, “How are you feeling” instead of saying “You look good.”
